67 Minutes for Mandela Day with Coach Shakes Mashaba
For Mandela Day this year, the South African Gallery of Legends dedicated our 67 minutes to honouring one of South Africa’s great football leaders — Legendary Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba.
More than 40 football legends from SAMLAFA joined us at Coach Mashaba’s home, where we rolled up our sleeves, cleaned the garden, trimmed trees, shaped plants, and restored the yard with pride and respect. The teamwork, laughter, and unity made the work light — a true reflection of what Mandela Day stands for.
After the garden was spotless, we spent the rest of the day with Coach Mashaba and his family, enjoying a warm and joyful braai. Seeing the smile on his face — and the happiness shared by his family — reminded us why service, gratitude, and community matter so deeply.
A day well spent.
A legend honoured.
A legacy continued.

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the sudden passing of Seputla Sebogodi — an icon, a legend, and a dear friend of the South African Gallery of Legends.
He gave us unforgettable characters and a spirit that lit up our screens. South Africa has lost one of its greatest storytellers.
We honor his life, his talent, and the light he shared with us.

Yesterday the South African Gallery of Legends supported the homecoming Parade of Bafana Bafana World Cup Hero – Teboho Mokwena.
The South African Gallery of Legends proudly joined the people of Bethlehem to celebrate one of South Africa’s brightest football stars.
His homecoming parade was a powerful moment of unity, pride, and gratitude. The streets of Bethlehem came alive as families, supporters, young footballers, and community leaders gathered to honour a young man whose talent and passion have inspired millions across the country.
As an institution dedicated to preserving and uplifting South African excellence, SAGOL was honoured to support this historic celebration. Teboho’s journey reflects the spirit of our nation’s greatest legends — resilience, humility, and an unwavering commitment to representing South Africa with pride on the world stage. It inspires the next generation to dream boldly and rise proudly
