A Night to Remember at the DSAC Ministerial Boxing Legends Gala Dinner

Attending the DSAC Ministerial Boxing Legends Gala Dinner on Monday night at Freedom Park (SA) was a privilege! The event was nothing short of spectacular, offering us the unique opportunity to meet some of the true legends of South African boxing. We were honored to have these incredible champions as part of the South African Gallery of Legends exhibition, celebrating their monumental contributions to the sport.

Newzroom Afrika conducted live interviews with these iconic boxers throughout the evening, giving us a chance to hear firsthand from the legends themselves about their remarkable careers and unforgettable moments in the ring. The stories, the passion, and the history they shared truly made this an unforgettable experience.

Among the legendary figures we had the pleasure of meeting were Francois Botha, Vuyani Bungu, and Sugar Boy Malinga – some of South Africa’s finest athletes. It was a rare and exciting opportunity to interact with such living history and to hear them reflect on their careers and the sport that made them icons.

Adding to the magic of the evening were old friends of the South African Gallery of Legends, Cassius Baloyi and Phillip Ndou, who entertained us with their charm and stories, making the evening even more special.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this event possible. It was an honor to be part of such a monumental evening that celebrated the rich history of South African boxing. We are truly lucky to have witnessed the incredible journey of these legends up close!
